Is it possible or even worth while removing the cb radio? (Details below)

I am very tall and am pretty much over the limit of leg length for the GL1500. One issue this causes for me is my left knee often accidentally hits the dial for the cb radio. This has happened enough to make me wonder if it was possible to remove the whole board hopefully cap off the wires and then maybe fit a blank 3D plated plate, or something along those lines.

I have no intended use for it.

How complicated would that process be, would it affect the radio and cassette player for example?

All I seem to do here is post questions about what’s wrong with my 1500 goldwing 😆🤷‍♂️ but here’s one more.

This happened ages ago now but I had target fixation and overshot a left hand bend and ended up on the verge and then back down onto the road. Fucking idiot, I know.

The bike survived, except for the fork seals which sent oil all over my front tyre. I even managed to keep the bike upright the whole way through the event lol.

I used brake cleaner and got all the oil off and rode home taking it extremely careful. However riding very slowly I noticed that when breaking I now was getting death wobble. I follow a few IG pages and one of them (38.Special) he also has death wobble on his wing and I pretty much assumed that, like him I have fucked my head bearings. Problem is, I am broke as anything, partly related to a few goldwing fixes already.. so it was being delayed even before going to the garage.

Anyway, I went to the mechanic the next day who sorted the seals out there and then. I spoke to him about the head bearings - how I can hear rattling over bumps (beneath the ignition) and get a death wobble at low speed breaking. He checked the front tyre and found a crack in the side wall but it’s still holding pressure. He said that will be the cause. I haven’t gone ahead with the tyre yet because like I mentioned, money. But I was also certain that the cause IS the bearings, although I’m not denying I do need tyre since it has a crack now.

My question to you is.. rattling from almost directly under the ignition and a handlebar wobble at low speeds, is that definitely going to be head bearings or could it really be the tyre, maybe the wheel is unbalanced now but wouldn’t that give me shaking at all speeds? Give me your general thoughts.

Picture for tax. I promise one day I will post here without asking stupid questions! Thank you.

Help me find out what this deep rooted plant is growing around my tree.

And what do I do to prevent it? I can’t seem to access the roots without digging up the turf that it’s growing through.

Turf was set around 50 days ago.

While I ride, I occasionally hear a knock when I go over a bump (Lots of that here in the uk). I wondered if it could be my centre stand going down by itself and then hitting the road - it does seem a little loose compared to what I’ve previously experienced. What do you guys think?

Just got back from work drove for about 45 minutes. When I got home I saw fluid along the drive. Checked under my car and saw dripping. What is this? Checked with my finger, smells like nothing and certainly looks like water. Should I be worried? 2016 Vauxhall Mokka.

Oh look it’s me again..

The white smoke post from yesterday was flooded by overwhelming relieving comments from you guys and I found it so interesting and I learned a lot so thank you!

A recurrent problem with my wing is the headlights, please forgive the essay that will follow but it’s needed to understand.

When I first bought my gl1500, the headlights worked, I rode it home and then noticed the following day that I had no high OR low beam, no light at all. I changed the bulbs, still nothing, found the fuse which was a 15A and had blown so I changed that and bingo - I got lights! I then went out for a ride and when I returned I realised, no lights again.. (Just the headlights, every other light works).

I was originally booked for the mechanic but he cancelled today so I’m gonna try once more and solve it myself. I’ve seen some information about relays so I’ve ordered one which will be here Wednesday and seems easy enough to change.

Anyone got any ideas? I pray that the wires aren’t burned out or anything horrific like that..

Going to the mechanic on Wednesday but ahead of time what could be the reason for my gl1500 to smoke like this?

It hasn’t been started in over a week so it’s cold start with choke and we got lots of white smoke. Once the engine warmed I took it off choke and let it idle for about five minutes and the smoke did seem to clear slightly but would still be visible when revving.

When on choke I did hear some knocking too. I have tried to capture all of this in three separate video but annoyingly Reddit has merged all videos into one. So the first clip is choke on with knocking, second clip is normal idle with smoke and last clip should be idle with revving.

I did a quick google and it said white smoke is relatively common.

Is it possible to set a shortcut or automation to turn EQ off in Apple music when connecting to a certain Bluetooth device (my car).

I use the increased bass for everything else in the EQ settings but my car is too much so I’d like the EQ off for everytime I get in the car.

Thank you.

I’ve posted here a couple times just to ask some questions but now I’m just here to show off my gorgeous 88 GL1500. I have never loved a bike so much.

What time roughly have they hit the stage?

I am planning my route and I don’t finish work until 6pm, I then have to commute to London via the train which take around 45 minutes then a tube. Will probably grab a burger for dinner quickly before as well.

I’m almost certain I’ll miss the support but I’m ok with that.

What does this switch do? This is my first Goldwing and I’m slowly trying to work out what all the buttons do. Bike is a gl1500.

I need a cover that will actually go over a 1988 GL1500.

Pretty much what the title says, any recommendations? I’m in the UK as well..

Reminding me of the time I saw The Ocean open up for Karnivool and genuinely, it was fucking amazing.

Obviously gutted Paul’s left The Ocean but so has almost everyone else, excited for whatever he does next though!

I have moved address and my old acoustic / electronic hybrid consisting of a TD17 and a Mapex M Birch needs to go. Built with triggers from Jobeky and mesh heads from drumtec. Over the years I have accumulated a lot of bits and bobs and now I’m just trying to get shot of it, I’m obviously sentimental as it’s a kit from my youth so I’m trying to be practical what a fair price would actually be.

Standouts are the TD17 brain, CY12 cymbals and an ATV Ride. That’s where the fear of underpricing lays.

The rest is mostly shells, triggers and mesh heads which I’m not too invested in. Mapex hardware is pretty decent for an amateur level so the stands must be worth a bit too.

I just need a reasonable total figure to draw someone in to take the lot.

Cheers!
