Battery disconnect

So this 80s Chevy GMT400 gets driven maybe twice a month, and each time it needs a hump.

I have trouble shot each fuse to try and rule out where the micro drain is but threw in the towell when nothing produced fruit.

This is an inexpensive solution- These two were laying in the scrap bin.

I originally bought the fancy disconnect you see in the pics, but it's huge overkill and needs a proper fkn mount to not dangle and rattle itself silly there liver nuts!

And all the cheesy ass 30amp switches and cheesy ass, and using a inline fuse i can yank out...thoese fuses don't yank easy there rubber neck!

So i connected all 3 conductors to the plugs (making the hot + side female so it doesn't short by touching anything) and there ya have it.

Uh oh Speghetti O

look what followed me home.

2003 gl1800 101000 miles. Soooo smooth.

so i've owned/ ridden... 40 bikes maybe.

i have watched so many vids and read so many threads about the handling and smoothness of the gl1800, but even that didn't prepare me for how smooth and light this bike feels. i have a (wrecked) 03 vtx1800 that weighs near 100lbs less and is a entire foot shorter, and this feels wayyyy lighter.

i watched a guy ride a gl18 up tail of the dragon video and figured "wow he must be a great rider!" riding the corners like a sport bike- NOPE, it literally handles that easy. wow. the acceleration is close to my (also wrecked) 07fjr1300, not quite as spunky but darn close. wow.

Leather belt stamp from bicycle chain

The buckle is a timing chain from a Kawasaki 1400, and it waranted an equally tough belt.... so i just laid a bike chain on it and then clamped a 2x4 to it and whacked it with a hammer to stamp it in.

Dry aged chuck

30 days dry aged in the fridge in a amazon bag. 5 bags for like $20? this is my 3rd try. It needs to be a decent "primal" chink, otherwise it just dries out and becomes hard.

apparently the bags help it release moisture without too much. who knows?

the flavor is nutty, tasty. it gets a tough skin they call "pellicle" i eat that part too, it's super dry like Jerky and tasy af.

so yeah pretty neat. sear in pan and let cool before eating, not aure why but it tastes better when it sits after cooking.

pretty gol dern tasty!

What happened to this Kawasaki 1400 engine?!

anyone good at puzzles?

No wrist pin was found, and that's a strong enough steel to no be pulverized. did it get ejected through the hole?

why did the crank shaft burn up on that cylinder bearing?

engine has writing on it, was it a rebuild? used engine?

the oil pump and head looked beautiful, cam journals were smooth as butter with barely any scoring.

wtf happened?

i bought it as a project and it cranked over nicely. only after weeks of fiddling did i finally shine a light behind the exhaust and discover the hole.

any guesses or ibaight appreciated.

also made a belt buckle out of cam chain, and some light saber shift drum , shift fork creature.

2008 Kawasaki zg1400 unknown miles.

Kawasaki ZG1400 vent hole

Bought the bike like this. It is what it is, the hole was hidden behind the fairings, radiator, and exhaust. it was 2 months of fiddling before I even noticed it. in some ways a relief as "ohh well that's why it wont run!"

Don't get me started on Kawi's Kipass security system tuat requires the keyfob, ignition switch with ingition computer, ecu, and kipass ecu, all from the same bike!

bought a bad one on ebay and got luck to get a refund.

heck of a ride. must have been quite a sound. found the con rod in chunks in the oil pan, but otherwise the top end was spotless. bet the bike didn't have 20k miles judging from the oil pump.

now the lady and I have this beautiful crankshaft in the house as art.

As we drove out to the country to buy an old FORD car, the lady and I were literally JUST joking 20 minutes before finding this becuase i was able to pee outside so easily, while she said "I need a detachable penis."

Feels like maybe granite? was it part of ancient roman statue or a joke gift?

So the stock mirros allow me to see both of my shoulders and little else. i often duck to the side to try and check behind me.

Some old BMX steel kick stands are the same diameter bar, so i cut the mirrors and added about 6" length. (giggity)

These are safer and do not pose any risk of failure.
