My parents sent me these pictures. On the beach between Frankfort and Pt. Betsie.
Part of a boat/ship or?

My best guess is like a whippet or those air canisters for BB guns, but the shower was mostly old ladies. I would love a more elderly answer if there is one

I know enough not to plug these into anything I own. But the curiosity is killing me.

Has anyone seen this before? Google just brings up the Radiohead song. Which, maybe that’s all that’s on these, but there’s two of them. One is 64gb, and I think the other one is the same or more maybe. That’s a lot of space for a single mp3 file, and a backup.

UPDATE 1: I’ve got an old laptop I’m willing to sacrifice. I’ll plug one in when I get home tonight. Wish me luck.

UPDATE 2: Alright, I finally got around to plugging the first drive into the sacrificial laptop.

There are only two files on it.

The first is a PDF titled How to Disappear Completely. It's essentially a field manual for digital privacy. It starts with some pretty strange, almost philosophical writing about surveillance, identity, and the information we leave behind. Then it gets surprisingly practical. Instructions for booting an operating system called Tails, along with resources about Tor, encryption, Monero, anonymous communication, and digital privacy.

The second file is called Rabbit_hole.txt. Rabbit_hole.7z

As for Tails, apparently it's an entire operating system that runs from a USB drive, routes internet traffic through Tor, and is designed to forget what you've done when you shut it down.

I'm going to try booting from the other USB now.

I'll update again once I've had a chance to explore it.

And seriously, don't take this as encouragement to plug random USB drives into your computer. That's a genuinely terrible idea.

This was days ago, when i had just rented an aparment that someone had just moved out of.

My girlfriend found this in her linen closet. Thought it might be a vacuum attachment, but we have no clue. Any ideas?

ComEd had to come out to my house to fix a neutral fault in the ground and left this attached to my meter when they left.

It had some weight to it, doesn’t feel cheap. Inscriptions on it make it seem custom. I gave it to the lost and found area just in case it has sentimental value.

I haven’t lived with a dishwasher or garbage disposal in over 20 years. Even then I do not recall needing a second small button to run either of those kitchen appliances?

When pressed it sounds like it’s providing low power to the dishwasher? Hard to tell for sure.

You see these everywhere. No boats have passed in many hours. Different days they’re in difference locations.

No one knows and no maintenence on site available.

We had a bunch of material brought in to our property (around 100 full dump truck loads) and in digging holes to landscape, came across this piece. Feels like it could be iron and is definitely corroded. I lightly rinsed the mud and dirt off of it but otherwise this is how we found it. For reference, I’m on Vancouver Island, Canada.
