Barefoot June ✅

I'm sure many of this sub's contributors are aware that June 1st is Go Barefoot Day, but a barefoot month? I wanted to extend the challenge past the first and avoid footwear for 30 days, and it was an awesome experience!

My stats were:

-15 days completely barefoot everywhere.

-less than 3 hours per day of shoes on the other 15 days, only Xero Z-Trails or Birkenstocks.

-57 miles of barefoot hiking on varied terrain.

-7 public outings (stores, public markets, and social gatherings).

My girlfriend joined me for this and loved the experience, so we are extending this challenge into July. This past week, we have been leaving the house without shoes and we no longer have backups in the car.

Does anyone else here actively challenge themselves to push the social limits of living barefoot? We really enjoy the lifestyle but sometimes think it's just easier to forgo the judgment and drama of being a barefooter in a city. What strategies do you use to navigate this and how often are you barefoot in public?

Halfway through June!

My girlfriend and I have been doing a June barefoot challenge and after 15 days without shoes, we're loving it. I'm currently averaging four miles per day and am even starting to enjoy gravel (it's almost like a massage!). No shoes, socks, flip flops, or footwear of any kind for 15 days has encouraged me to get rid of most shoes and only keep a pair for emergencies. I'm converted to the lifestyle for sure lol.

Anyone else barefoot the entire month so far?

National Go Barefoot (Month)

Happy National Go Barefoot Day to my shoeless people!

My girlfriend and I love going barefoot in nature and generally hike daily in the summers. We're going barefoot every day for the month of June to enjoy the summer weather after a particularly long winter in boots.

We just spent the whole weekend walking and hiking and left our footwear behind at home, so we're looking forward to getting used to the social aspects of going barefoot in public. Aside from that, are there any tips from full-time barefooters or people who have done long stretches without shoes?
