My experience as a a Magic fan when living in Orlando (I lived there for 5 years, currently living in Tampa) was that most of the time when I went to a bar I had to ask to put the Magic game on one of the corner TVs. Most of my friends only cared about Orlando SC and didn’t give a shit about the Magic so nobody ever wanted to watch the game.

It sucked.

Now when I say we have the best fans, imagine people growing up in say…Boston or Philadelphia. EVERYBODY in the city is a fan of their sports teams. They probably never have to worry about asking the bartender to put the Celtics or 76ers game on. When they’re a kid it’s cool to root for your local sports team because all your classmates root for them too. You can talk shit about how great your fans are. ESPN talks abut you all the time. Being a fan of those teams frankly sounds FUN.

We don’t have that luxury. We’re Magic fans. We blow 20+ point leads in the playoffs with the series on the line. Our friends don’t care about the Magic so we have to make our own plans if we want to watch the Magic blow a 20+ point lead. Opposing fans fill our stadium and we have to listen to their chants.

AND THATS A GODDAMN BADGE Of HONOR

Being a Magic fan takes WAY more perseverance than being a fan of a successful and popular franchise. It’s easy to root for a team when everybody around you is rooting for them. And that’s why, my fellow Magic fans, you’re the best fans in the league. When we finally win a championship in 40 years it’ll be that much more rewarding.

I’m pretty drunk and I’ll probably delete this in the morning. Sorry for any spelling mistakes, English is my 5th language
