What seed do you see us getting this season?

Knicks are the champs. Still got the Pistons maybe with or without Duren. Sixers and Raptors got better. Hornets and Boston maybe got worse. Heat, Wizards, and Pacers should be better. Hawks were a surprise. Cavs might get Lebron. Outside of the obvious coach upgrade, we haven't made any high profile roster moves

Jalen Suggs needs to be encouraged to be more aggressive for the offense to take the next step.

That's through more designed plays getting him downhill...he's efficient as a driver. Coming out of college, that was a big part of his appeal as a prospect. This offense needs more movement and more ways to break down defenses from what we've seen in previous years and increasing Suggs' offensive load can contribute in accomplishing that.

More wrinkles in the halfcourt is necessary. Suggs often is reduced to waiting for a kick out from 3. Yes, he needs to be a better shooter but he's not being optimized in that role. Hopefully under Coach Sweeney your team is less of a my turn/your turn offense in the halfcourt. More plays utilizing Suggs' speed as a driver can inject needed pace and dynamism in this Magic offense.

How important do you all think Suggs' offensive growth is to your success this season ahead?

Will Sean Sweeney quickly wear out his welcome?

Will Sean Sweeney quickly wear out his welcome? He's admitted to being an "asshole" during his welcome interview, although he seemed to make conscious effort to "listen".

I strongly believe the magic need discipline, lots of practice throughout the season to drill the right habits and competent offense. But Scott Skiles' tenure as the magic head coach in 2014 should be a cautionary tale he should mind.

Skiles is a demanding, unflinching, no sugar coating coach who will hold all to exacting standards on offense and defense. He practices hard year round, demands exact floor geometry, no mistake defensive rotations and specific offensive decisions. He has no issues pulling you out when you make the wrong play, regardless if you're a "star".

And the magic had a massive and immediate 10 game improvement over the Jacques Vaughn "matchups". The offense and defense improved from bottom of the league to average.

Fournier became a highly efficient SG shooting over 40% from 3. Oladipo replaced Elfrid Payton as the point of attack defender and Skiles said he was playing at an all-defense level. Aaron Gordon played amazing defense, even Vuc became league average defender.

Soon, that grinding approach wore out it's welcome though. Scott bailed within two seasons because he lost the locker room, FO office had a hard on for Hezonja and Elfrid and Skiles decided he was done with coaching. We lost Tobias and Oladipo right before his all-star ascension.

So, while Sean should absolutely drill the team constantly, give hard truths, hold guys accountable, he needs to keep in mind that he can easily wear out his welcome if he overdoes it.

So based in Jeff Weltman offseason moves. I guess, he's gambling on Coach Sweeney coaching and Paolo Banchero taking this team to the next level

While some eastern teams trying to get big moves. Like Giannis to Miami, JB to Philly Our offseason moves just signing a 36 years old Vooch. Resigning some of our players like JI, Jevon Carter and Jamal Cain. This puts a big question marks on what will be the team's look like in the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Either

Sweeney can create not just a better defensive system. But also on our offense (Our main weaknesses last season since the magic rosters do not react well to Coach Mosley read and react offense).

Offseason thought experiment: If LeBron came to Orlando and delivered the franchise its first championship, what would that mean for his legacy?

This isn’t about team-building or how it would realistically happen. I’m talking purely hypothetical. If he came here and actually won as a player, what would that mean? Would he end up in the front office after he retires? Would he become the most important player in the franchise’s history? Just having fun with the idea.

Getting a new team

Honestly never had a team always been a LeBron guy and just enjoyed other stars like Giannis, Curry, Kyrie watching head to head matches and playoffs

However I want to join a team after post LeBron, and I guess I’m taking my talents here, love the redesign and hard blue, have some history with Florida shout out Universal and Disney, eastern conference, want to root for a team without a chip yet

What’s some more history I should know about other than Shaq, Penny Hardaway

The only con I have is the fact Amway has ties with this team but whatevs

Rashard Lewis' 2009 postseason was the 6th most impactful single stretch by clutch win probability added all time

He averaged 19 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists a game on 45/40/78 splits in that run, including a ridiculous 48% from three in the conference finals against the Cavaliers

Offseason Growth

Lebron recently mentioned in his podcast that “the best way to get better in the offseason is to play 5 v 5. There are players that get ready but the best stay ready.” I’m curious what Magic players are doing this offseason. Any insight on this?

Does anybody think we’re kinda in trouble?

In just a short amount of time, the east has gotten a lot better, with Miami Philly and Toronto making major additions. New York also still looks great and Indiana is going to be much healthier. I’m not thinking we need to do anything major, but I feel like a true point guard is needed now more than ever, regardless if we may have to make some sacrifices elsewhere due to our cap situation. What other moves could be made to improve our footing in the conference?

Weltman turned water into wine

Well that may be some hyperbole, but got to give credit where credit is due. He turned Isaac's salary I think it was $14 million into 3 minimum contracts - Vooch, Carter, Isaac - to fill out the roster.

I like all the pickups and I think they still have room for 1 more minimum with Nelson signing a 2 way. I doubt the TMLE gets used cause that puts them at the hard cap (correct me please if the TMLE is off the table anyway). But there are still some good wing players who they can get for minimum (Simons is definitely getting more than that). I'm looking at Josh Okogie, Russell Westbrook, Javonte Green, Khris Middleton (praying hands)
