i was at Best Buy last week just browsing and saw a CyberPower PC on display, RTX 4060 and i5-14400F for like $849 and i was so close to just grabbing it. looked decent on paper, nice case and everything.

got home and started actually looking into it more and the PSU was some no name 500W unit i could find zero info on. went on PCPartPicker just to price out the same specs and realized i could build something cleaner for around the same price, swap in a decent Seasonic PSU and not have to worry about it taking my whole system down one day.

ended up going with a B650 board, the 7600, same 4060 and a Corsair RM750e. had a bit of money set aside from the past few months so i could stretch slightly on the PSU and a 2TB SSD instead of the 1TB that usually comes in those prebuilts.

the build took me about 4 hours, first timer here, and it posted first try which felt unreal.

the CyberPower looked fine from the outside but man the internals were not it. always check the PSU before you buy anything
