Future Twin Cities transplant here 👋. I’m a single mom with two little kids and one of my biggest priorities is building a solid community. Where do people actually meet friends here? Especially other parents?

Parks, school/daycare, activities, what’s worked for you? I’ve seen some comments saying it can be hard to make close friends in Minneapolis, which makes me a little nervous the closer it gets to my move date.

Would love to hear some real success stories! TIA!

Hi, my ex and I split four years ago and the kids live with me. They visit him usually every other Saturday, but other than that, I pay for everything and he is not very involved.

I want to move to Michigan next summer and he said it’s fine. We do not have anything legal between us at all, no child support, no custody agreement, nothing like that. Should I still seek for primary custody with relocation or is him writing a letter and getting it notarized that I can move with the kids OK enough? Am scared of taking things to court, my kids are my everything. Thank you.

PS We were never married, kids have my last name. Unsure if that matters.
