Is my 15 month old ready to begin the 2 to 1 nap transition?

Good independent sleeper, morning nap in cot, afternoon nap often in pram

WWs: 3.25hr/4hr/3.5hr

Bedtime: 8pm

DWT: 7.30am (though we've never actually got there consistently, got to 7am relatively consistently but wake time has always varied quite a bit)

Night sleep duration: 10.5 - 11.5hrs, we aim for 11hrs on a normal night.

Caring set up: with grandmas/dad/mum 7 days a week. Starting nursery in 3 months time 2 days a week.

Development: chatting more last week or so, learning to stand independently and walk holding a walker last few weeks.

Teeth: 6 and none have cut for 3 months. Some signs of teething on off chewing, drooling, food refusal but nothing major or consistent.

15 months tomorrow, still happily taking a long morning nap (normally 1hr -1.5hrs), still hapily taking afternoon nap (normally 45mins). No nap fighting, no fighting bedtime, no night wakes (though we've only ever really had night waking during teething, significant illness and for a week during 12 month sleep regression).

Last 3 weeks only slept to 7am or later 4 times. Wake ups varying from 5.25am - 7.35am. Has had a cold for a couple of weks during that period but nothing too bad. The last week we've had 3 nights of 11 - 11.25hrs sleep and 4 nights of 10 - 10.3hrs sleep. The week before 1 night of 11hrs and 6 nights of 10 - 10.75hrs. 4 of last 5 days morning nap has been 1hr 40 - 2hrs so actually getting longer, presumably to catch up on reducing night sleep.

Essentially the only sign we could be needing nap transition is the reducing night sleep and earlier wakes for a few weeks. Do you think we should start transitioning or is this just somw teething/ developmental leap/cold disruption merging?? Or should we be stretching 1st WW (will probably have to reduce 2nd WW at same time so not to end up with excessive TWT or a too short 3rd WW) and seeing what happens? Or capping total naps more? Thoughts please...

NB we will transition quite gradually when do. 3 to 2 transition didn't go well and LOs sensitive to overtiredness so we'll start by introducing 1 nap days a couple of days a week and go from there when we go for it.

Also we are in UK and going to US in 4 days time, (7hr time difference) for 2 weeks to stay with family. So not ideal time to be changing things up massively, or perhaps a good time given things will be turned on their head anyway?!
