Needing input on driving RTH in the (possible) rain?

We’re headed to Maui next week and have 2 nights planned in Hana mid-late next week, before heading over to the west side of the island.

Looking for any input as how to judge weather forecast implications on RTH conditions on our ability to get over there and back. I’ve seen ‘don’t drive it in the rain’ but is this more ’dont drive it during a massive storm’ and not the daily rain that shows up more frequently on the east side?

Appreciate any insight! We plan to hike Pipiwai, but aren’t afraid of getting out in the rain and are aware of the mud, etc.
