Totally new to painting - please give me basic instructions

I am moving into a condo and want to repaint an accent wall that is currently orange while the rest of the walls are light grey. The wall is 60 x 100 inches, and it already has white moulding at the top and bottom, like the rest of the grey walls. I have not painted anything since fingerpainting in elementary school, but I feel like this is something I can handle. Can someone very kindly give me basic instructions that are idiot proof? I assume I should use a tinted primer and a coat or two of the color over. It seems that green Frog tape would be good to protect the moulding. Do I use a brush? A roller? Both? What should I do to protect the floor? Again, thank you for kind replies - I don't need to feel like more of a dum-dum than I currently do. 😊
