Venus Fly Trap
Has anyone kept a Venus Fly Trap alive? My kids and husband brought one home a year ago and it’s struggling. It wasn’t getting enough light over the winter. So a few months ago I made sure it got more sunlight (I moved it around to windows with light throughout the day). Now I’ve purchased a grow light and also have put it outside in warmer days (I’m in the Midwest and it’s been a cold spring). It’s still popping out new leaves but they seem to shrivel and die after a few days. Here’s what I’m doing:
- It’s in the pot/soil it was bought in
- it’s in a tray of water at all times- distilled water
- it gets 6+ hours of light (grow light + natural)
Is it just a lost cause? I’m spending a lot of time trying to revive this plant. But I won’t give up if there’s still a chance!
