Can body language at work reveal disappointment?
I’ve been overthinking my manager’s body language lately and I’m curious what other people think.
He’s naturally a very outgoing and joyful person, jokes around a lot with everyone, and when I first joined the company he was like that with me too. But recently he’s been acting more distant toward me specifically (or at least it feels that way).
One thing I noticed is during our daily online meetings, when it’s my turn to speak, he often looks elsewhere instead of at his laptop or screen. Like he seems distracted or disengaged. But when other people speak, he seems more attentive.
Now I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong at work, if my performance isn’t good enough, or if he’s maybe annoyed or disappointed with me and it’s showing through his body language.
Am I overanalyzing normal behavior, or does this kind of change usually mean something?
