Severe breakthrough hives after switching to Xolair injections at home?
Has anyone else with chronic idiopathic/spontaneous urticaria noticed their breakthrough hives getting significantly worse after switching from getting Xolair at the doctor’s office to doing the injections at home?
I started giving myself my Xolair injections at home about two months ago, and since then I feel like my breakthrough hives have been really bad. I’m starting to wonder if I’m somehow not administering the injections correctly or if there could be another reason they don’t seem to be working as well.
Before switching to at-home injections, Xolair generally controlled my hives pretty well, so the timing has me questioning whether there’s a connection.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Did you ever find out that you were doing the injection incorrectly, or did switching back to having it administered in-office make any difference? Would love to hear other people’s experiences.
