Why are Spanish showers designed this way?!

I've been living in Spain for 10+ years. I've rented 4 different places and been in many more homes. I'm completely perplexed by the showerhead placement in long/bathtub style showers.

It's been this way in every Spanish bathroom I've been in. The showerhead is detachable, that's great, but the wall mount is always in the middle of the long side, and never at the end. So when you don't want to hold the shower head in your hand you have to scrunch to one side of the tub instead of having it mounted on the short wall and being able to use the full length of the tub.

In the attached foto, you have to stand to the far right of the tub to not splash water everywhere. It seems much more logical and less messy to mount the metal bar on the right wall.

Are Spaniards doing something very different in the shower than me? Even if I hold the shower head in my hand most of the time, I still have to rinse my hair.

Okay, beautiful ladies, I'm so confused right now. About 3 months ago I, 47, started HRT- 25mcg patch, 100mg daily progesterone, and vaginal gel. My periods had been getting further apart and I'd skipped one here and there over the last couple years. Progesterone made me sleepy and the estrogen effects were subtle but appreciated- less muscle stiffness, eliminated my night sweats, greatly decreased anxiety, especially the middle-of-the-night ruminating.

I have no change in libido or motivation though, so I checked in with my doc about possibly adding testosterone. She said let's make sure more estrogen wouldn't help those symptoms before trying testosterone because 25mcg is such a tiny dose. Seemed like a reasonable approach.

So now I'm 10 days into the 50mcg/day patch- double my previous dose. A week after starting the higher dose, I got my period. Before HRT this always brought on a huge relief in most peri symptoms. But now, I'm post-period, and I feel like I have loads of low E symptoms. I tossed and turned all night with anxiety/fight or flight, that triggered hot flashes for hours. I've also noticed increased joint pain/muscle stiffness. I actually just gave up in my Monday yoga class, I was so tight.

My patch is sticking fine. It's the same brand as the previous 25mcg, just bigger. I just don't understand how a doubling of my E dose has me feeling about like I did before I started HRT. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I go back to my lower dose? Should I tough it out a bit longer? Has anyone else had a rough dose increase that ended up leveling out and working well?
