Hi all!
I have been reading posts for a long time and am so thankful for community support. It makes a big difference to not feel alone.
So I acquired a UTI after a catheter, but it is localized to the urethra area. Microgen says that it is a Klebsiella pneumoniae uti. It’s been present for a couple months.
Oral antibiotics are struggling to eradicate it. My question is about the idea of using antibiotics for urethral instillations specifically. I read another post that a Reddit user did this and basically laid down for a while to let it take effect.
I know this may seem like a strange idea, but I am having difficult neuropathy from the antibiotics and a sensitized neurological system.
I wish it was in the bladder and then I could do bladder instillations, but the pain is truly localized to the urethra.
I also read that one user had Dr. Heer prescribe lidocaine for urethral injections with a syringe, so would antibiotic instillations be so different?
Thank you for caring about my situation. It has been tough, but I have faith that I will pull through!
