Free photo shoot tactic

I’ve seen other people talk about this, but I need to share my own experience with a “free photo shoot” offer. I was desperate for photos with my senior dog—she’s in a wheelchair and has kidney failure, and I just wanted to capture these last moments. But when I got there, I realized none of the photos were actually free. I felt so vulnerable, especially after driving so far. I ended up paying $200 for just one photo, even though I couldn’t afford anything more. They pushed financing plans, but I couldn’t afford it. I know some people call this a scam, and even if it’s not outright fraud, it’s a really unethical tactic. I saw a young family walk in as I was leaving, and I know they’ll feel that pressure too. If you’re reading this, please be careful. Go somewhere upfront with clear pricing, so you don’t feel pressured in a vulnerable moment like I did. I just hope sharing this helps someone else avoid the same situation.
