My cat is 2 years old and I got him in February. His kibble is Hill’s Science diet (what he ate at his foster home) and he doesn’t eat much of it. I free feed him when the bowl looks empty and he doesn’t eat much. He gets half a can of fancy feast pate in the morning and at night. I found he eats more of it if I give him less at a time. He really likes it with water, but he’s not been super interested recently.

It isn’t that he doesn’t eat at all, but he definitely doesn’t seem interested in his kibble specifically. Wet food is hit or miss, he definitely has preferences for different flavours so I try to feed him mostly the ones he likes.

Would switching food be helpful? Or is there something else I can try?
