Looking for an "in" at TOH for a clerk position

Looking for a casual clerk position. Local Ottawa Resident for 25 years+

I have a bachelor in Health Sciences and have worked as a medical admin for over a year at a clinic and also work another side hussle at Carleton Place Hospital in diagnostic imaging. I also volunteered at TOH long ago. I have all the requirements necessary for this position, however I keep getting told its impossible to get a clerk job unless I know someone there and have a connection? I think its true because for years I apply to the casual pool and get nothing. I live very close to all the Ottawa campuses and I'm really interested in this kind of job as I already know how to use EPIC, EMR's, and have medical terminology and worked in healthcare and with physicians.

I have now turned to Reddit to see if maybe I can find someone to help me network a way into this organization.

Anyone who studied Ultrasound but never pursued it?

I studied to be an echo tech. Realized im not that good at it. My clinical sites hated me. Nonetheless passed my boards.

I am now only doing echo casually its basically now just a side hussle to get a couple of extra bucks a month and even as a side hussle im not that into it.

I dont have any student debts but just kind of disappointed that i went into this to try and better my life but turned out to be a waste?

I work 2 other part time jobs and pick up 3-4 echo shifts a month

idk if anyone else felt like they had imposter syndrome or that they realized that echo hurts the arm and back and dont wanna do it regularly?

Starting new echo job this week imposter syndrome.

Im starting a new casual echo job after looking for a year for a job with no luck I was finally able to score a job in a rural hospital. Im starting soon and am afraid ill have some sort of imposter syndrome or be too slow even though during the interview they said they didnt care and were just delighted to have someone wanna join their small community hospital 🫣 its been a while and im just glad I was able to finally get a job after all that time in school and doing my boards. I could use some words of advice from people when they first started out and at places that werent where they did their clincials

Can my manager decline my request for one shift a week?

Can my store manager decline my request for 1 shift a week? I have other commitments and cant really do more than one shift. I think it says your allowed to work minimum of 5 hours if not busy season. Can my manager decline my request ? Or should I get a note from Dr. saying I can only work one shift for mental health reasons?

I feel incompetent as an Echo sonographer

Graduated - board certified

In real life feel like I dont know what the hell I'm doing. Not very confident and try to get perfect images but its tough. Not a fast scanner either. Always afraid im going to miss something or not put the right thing in the report. Sometimes I wonder why the hell do we even need to do a detailed preliminary report if the Dr. has the final say.

Also how many of you put in Diastolic and Systolic grade in the report?

8 patients a day is overwhelming

How to deal with being shamed for being 29 and not married

I’m female but this goes for both genders. Society & relatives are being a pain in the ass. Its almost like im shunned and rumours start circling and people think you need to go get an exorcism or something like something is genuinely wrong with you when your just chilling living life and leaving it to allah. How do you react to comments shaming you for being old and single?
