Roof Leak

I am spiraling a bit. Moved into my home about 2 years ago, had an inspection all was well. Noted the roof appeared to be in good shape.

A few months after I moved in I noticed a crack in one of the rooms ceilings that looked a little strange, but seemed to follow the drywall joint, so I assumed it was just a poor repair job, no discoloration or staining. I took a peak in the attic and i had a very hard time moving around with the fiberglass insulation up there, but I didn't see a leak and the insulation wasn't compressed, so I settled for keeping an eye on it.

Fast forward to today (heavy rainy event) and I notice there there is a little dripping coming from that area of the ceiling....oy! I called a roofer immediately and he is planning to have a look. My concerns are as follows:

  1. Roof repair. I assume that is going to be needed. Can you spot repair? The roof is 14 years old, so not super old, but also not new.

  2. If that has actually been leaking for months, or years and it only just got saturated enough to show downstaiRS....how screwed am I? I assume insulation will need replacing...probably the drywwall.

I have a 6 week old son and a three year old, so on top of everything, I am worried about the health impacts here. So worried this is going to be an absolute catastrophe. Any thoughts from this community on similar stores?

Zissner primer question

I had my bathroom ceiling primed on Monday due to peeling with one of the zissner products. The smell was super pungent so I opted to go spend the night away with windows cracked. I returned today and it smells much better, but there is still a slight lingering odor, and oddly the soft surfaces (couches) seem to have obsorbed the smell. I have a toddler and a younger one....can some help me understand if the environment is dangerous at this point?

The painter didn't mention anything, and it's not totally clear to me based on the reading I've done online.
