What are your experiences with the medication Digoxin and Metoprolol?

Hi my family member I am currently taking care of has AFIB, some dementia, and in the past been on Digoxin and metoprolol for many years. After some time her BP and energy was so low Dr agreed we need to stop... eventually both. Following cessation all tests where showing great improvement, nuclear heart tests good too. Recently however, she was hospitalized for a broken hip and because of the pain and AFIB her heart DR assigned here at the hospital put her back on metoprolol and Digoxin. We have been in the hospital for 3 weeks and although she has made a lot of progress she is always sleeping (not baseline at all). The only other pain meds she on is Tylenol. I understand it could be a variety of factors being in a hospital having such painful fracture but still wondering, has anyone else had similar experiences of Metoprolol and Dagoxin making them lethargic and very sleepy. Lastly, I know Digoxin has a very narrow therapeutic window so how do I actually know it's working? Thank you in advance for any shared information.
