Interest check: native Apple Silicon League companion app with borderless overlay

I’m researching the current state of League of Legends companion tools on macOS and would like feedback from Mac players.

From what I found, most League companion apps are either Windows/Overwolf-focused, run through Rosetta on Apple Silicon, or do not support overlays on macOS.

Technically, I’m wondering whether a native macOS approach would be useful:

- Apple Silicon native app

- League Client / LCU integration

- champion select detection

- rune import

- build recommendations

- matchup information

- optional overlay-style window

The overlay would not use injection or game hooking. On macOS, the clean approach would most likely be a transparent always-on-top window, which means it would probably work best in borderless/windowed mode instead of true fullscreen.

One open issue is build data, since Riot does not provide a free official “best build” API. So this would likely need curated/static data first, or a backend that aggregates match data later.

For people who play League on Mac: would something like this actually solve a problem, or are browser tools like OP.GG/U.GG enough?
