zoetis and librela killed both of my dogs. librela is dangerous

I never imagined I would be writing something like this. I trusted a medication called Librela because I thought I was helping my dogs live with less pain. Instead, I lost both of them.

After my first dog passed, I started researching. At first I thought maybe it was just horrible luck. But then the messages started coming in. One after another. Photos. Videos. Medical records. Timelines. Owners from all over the world telling nearly identical stories after their dogs received Librela.

Some dogs declined rapidly neurologically.
Some developed weakness or paralysis.
Some began walking in circles, collapsing, coughing, seizing, or becoming disoriented.
Others stopped eating, lost bladder control, or deteriorated so quickly their owners barely had time to understand what was happening.

My own dogs changed after the injections. One developed what we called the “Librela cough” and progressively weakened. Another experienced frightening neurological symptoms that I can still replay in my mind every day.

What shook me most was realizing how many owners felt dismissed when they tried to report what happened. Many were told it was old age, coincidence, or progression of arthritis — even when the timing after the injection was immediate and dramatic.

So I started collecting stories. Not rumors. Actual owner experiences with timelines, veterinary records, imaging, lab work, videos, and photos. What started as grief turned into documentation.

At one point our support communities had tens of thousands of members discussing adverse reactions connected to Librela and Solensia. Every single day new owners still arrive devastated and searching for answers after losing pets they deeply loved.

I know some people will dismiss this as “social media hysteria,” but that ignores the growing number of adverse event discussions, owner reports, and scientific concerns being raised around these drugs. Pet owners deserve transparent investigation, informed consent, and honest conversations about risks.

I am not posting this to attack veterinarians. Most vets trusted the information they were given too. I’m posting because families deserve to hear experiences that many feel are being minimized.

If your dog had a reaction after Librela, I encourage you to document everything:

  • Dates of injections
  • Symptoms and progression
  • Videos/photos
  • Bloodwork and imaging
  • Veterinary notes
  • FDA adverse event reports

Even if someone tells you it’s unrelated, your experience still matters.

I would give anything to have my dogs back. Since I can’t, the least I can do is make sure people are informed and that these animals are not forgotten.
