I am a non US IMG from Pakistan,

YOG 2023 (degree is dated 2024), visa requiring

Step 1 pass

Step 2 score 261

Wont be ecfmg certified by application submissions.

18 months clinical experience as a Medical officer.

Currently working as a medical assistant to US physicians remotely.

Research:

1. a poster presentation

2. PROSPERO registered meta-analysis in process

3. A case report not published yet

4. An undergrad unpublished qualitative research

LORs:

Have Dean's letter

3 LORs from IM home country physicians ( a gastroenterologist, a rheumatologist and a IM professor)

1 LOR from a rheumatologist from UK

IMSEL from my university

Do I have any chance? I am applying to limited programs like 30 or less.

Any advice or collab with a similar applicant would be really helpful

I got a rotation for june, 2026 but due to ongoing iran-usa conflict my visa appointment got rescheduled to start of October. I have license to practice and I have been doing clinical job for 2 years and just got laid off. I know its really desperate to enter match cycle without usce but i really dont want to delay it for another year due to increasing YOG and family pressure.

I am planning to apply to small number of IMG friendly IM community programs. I am mentally prepared to go unmatched and apply next year with USCE. Kindly share if anybody matched without usce or have any advice?
