Match 2027

I am applying for match this year with USCE as a non-US IMG. Have a score of 247 and 8 scholarly activities. No gaps. YOG 2024. Have 3 home country LORs. I am applying mainly to targeted IM progs but think of applying to FM as well to for better chances. I am applying to these as my CV currently aligns with these two. (Deep down I like Derm:')) but have nothing but a 3 months home country internship, a derm HOD LOR, and a derm research with a PI from NIH. Should I just not apply to something a like because its far from reality rn or should I take chances and give it a try :') can anyone give me a formula or advice on how should I be targeting these if yes or simply settle for IM/FM for now?

Am I considered as us img. I saw us-img has lower score cut off than non us img.

Chances of matching or should I apply 2027/2028

Hey guys, pls help me out. I dont know what my chances are and seeing so many high scorers I feel so average and feel like 0 chance. this sounds like ragebait post but I kinda wanna do cardio fellowship so I wanna match into mid-tier uni programs.

YOG 2026, visa req, applying IM

p/261/not done

I got about 3 months USCE - hands on Clinic but with inpatient on call experience with attendings

EU medSchool non UK

About 3 months UKCE

5 posters in international conference (EU) and 2 peer viewed papers. 2 submitted case reports but they take so long. Most are from my research assistant thingy I did in medschool but in basic science-pain medicine not IM (about 4 years lab research)

should I defer next cycle with stronger step3 and better USCE inpatient ?

I am aware my scores are pretty average now and I have ok research output. Just objective feedback on whether if I can even think of academic programs or should I settle for community?

how does INCOMPLETE ATTEMPT affects my application?

I have an incomplete attempt on Step 1 due to a health emergency. Incomplete attempts are not considered failed attempts. What I’m worried about is whether my application could be filtered out because of the incomplete attempt. I couldn’t find any information about specific filters for this situation. Are filters something like “history of failure”? If so, that would be good because I don’t have a failure. Or are they more like “passed on the first attempt”? If that’s the case, I’m not sure how an incomplete attempt would be treated. because an incomplete attempt is not scored, technically my first scored attempt was a pass. I’m worried about how this is actually seen by residency programs and whether an incomplete attempt appears in any of the ERAS filters. If a PD, , or anyone familiar with residency application filters has experience with this, I would really appreciate your insight. I’m especially interested in whether an incomplete Step 1 attempt can cause an applicant to be filtered out. It is not fair to be filtered out simply because someone had a health emergency during the exam and physically couldn’t finish it.

ERAS Application - Listing Clinical Experience

Hello all,

What is the best way to list U.S. clinical experiences in ERAS? I have completed three recent Internal Medicine-related externships: two at one institution and a third at another institution. Would it be better to combine all three into a single experience and describe the different rotations within the entry, or list each externship separately?

I also have extensive scientific research experience through my employment, including work advancing large-scale clinical research programs. I am trying to decide how best to use the “most meaningful” experiences. Would it be stronger to combine the externships into one entry and select a couple of my research positions as most meaningful, or list the three externships separately and designate them as my three most meaningful experiences?

Because of my longer year of graduation, I am primarily targeting community-based and university-affiliated Internal Medicine programs, so I want to make sure my recent U.S. clinical experience is presented as clearly and strongly as possible.

I would greatly appreciate your guidance. Many thanks!
