Then/Now - Front Yard Edition

After we got the back yard in a good spot, we got to work on the front yard.

The hell strip (besidewalk) I now 100% lavender, and it's stunning when it's all in bloom. I couldn't count the number of bees if I tried, and it's incredible to see. And then I get to harvest it all, and my whole house smells wonderful for a couple weeks.

Eventually, we'll finish off the other half, but for now, we're enjoying the fruits of our labor.

Please don't mention the landscaping fabric, hindsight is 20/20. We're removing as much as we can, when we can.

Then/Now Backyard Edition

I woke up one morning during COVID and decided I was fed up with cutting grass, no lightning bugs, loud mowers and blowers, chemicals, etc. My wife was on board, and now we have a little urban oasis, and it's quite lovely, IMO. Tons of work, but worth it.
We now have several varieties of swallowtail butterflies, monarchs in the summer, chipmunks, lizards, an incredible array of birds, a barred owl makes an appearance once in a while, and we have orders of magnitude more lightning bugs than most other houses.
