MMI- authenticity and sounding rehearsed
ive heard a lot of students discuss two (somewhat) contradictory ideas
one being, you dont want to sound too rehearsed, or as if your just recalling lecture content for 3 minutes straight- & that you want to sound very optimistic, "bubbly", etc. considering its an interview this makes sense to me.
ive also seen students say the complete opposite, that naming frameworks and policies is a good thing, referring to stats, etc.
but i feel like, to a certain extent- a lot of people are going to have the same "template" answer/approach to the questions, or use the same kinda
"buzz words." especially since most students learn from the same sources.
so what really differentiates candidates, when everyone seemingly has the same answer? i mean ive seen people discuss memorising complete answers and that seems ridiculous right? and damaging?
so although i understand no one knows exactly how its all marked, what is the correct approach?
i really enjoy mmi practice, and appreciate the skills and attributes required for this kind of thing. i also find a lot of interest in discussing each and every topic, but im just so stressed. should we aim to be more ourselves, perhaps speak a little more casually (in terms of tone, not like colloquialisms lol) rather than speaking in a very formal way? should we use those buzz words? am i the biggest overthinker in the world?
