I am an international student and want to study a BSc in Data science and business analytics in NZ. I’ve got an acceptance letter from both University of Otago and Victoria University of Wellington. Where should I study if I want to work a part time to cover my rent, groceries, etc. Also good internship opportunities to build my profile and resume for future employment?

I don’t want to make a mistake in choosing the university since I don’t know much about how NZ works. A good campus, good staff and good overall culture helps a lot. I’m a very social and extroverted person but I don’t know if the people there are racist towards Indian nationals. I’m not exactly a pure Indian I’m born in qatar but yes I’m Indian. Lmao idk what I’m saying but since I’m living a couple thousand kilometers away from my parents I just want a lot of friends to fill that void of spending time with people and socializing.

Has anyone dealt with really bad anxiety around group work?? Like I obviously know its not all that but I have rlly rlly bad social anxiety and just the whole exposure therapy or wtv advice isn't for me rn

I was thinking of going to the counsellor but not even sure if they can actually DO anything practical????? Im so scared Im being serious

Hello I am going to study chemical and processing engineering next year. I am just wondering if it would be a lot of a big jump from high school to university.

I am excellence endorsed from level 2 and have really good grades and skills and can study very well.

What does uni work seem like in engineering. Is it a lot of work, is it very hard?
And does the lecturers and tutors help you and teaches you how to get the highest mark like they do in ncea by showing you examplars and giving you mock assessments/exams?

Does anyone know where (aside from munchy) one can reliably get a fruit salad on or near campus?

I fr crave these too often and borderline feel like a pregnant lady craving pickles with toothpaste or smth but istg I NEED my watermelon and grapes etc.

I know there’s revues for some departments but why is there not school wide musical surely for all the money we pay to come to uni there is enough to buy rights and run a show right???

As the title suggests these are some of the papers I am undertaking next sem, and i just wanted to know from people who have done these in the past, does your attendance towards tutorials, and labs count for your grade? I would in general like to know the assesment breakdown for these courses as it will help me plan out my time. I have to commute into uni and my timetable has very odd timings, thus I would like to know in advance where I am required and where I am not and can do from home!

Honestly I don’t get some people….do they not feel embarrassed or guilty? I just finished a group assignment and one of my team members barely ever responded. She basically did nothing and didn’t even pretend to want to make an effort. She’d take forever to do the smallest things and we wouldn’t hear from her for ages even when she'd agree on doing something. We’d have to constantly remind her of the smallest things, and it made all of us feel sooo pushy. She’d never even offer to do anything! The previous lazy group members I had at least would offer to do things sometimes and ask if there’s anything to be done, whereas this person couldn‘t even be bothered to pretend to feel bad or make an effort.

I’d feel so embarrassed and guilty if I were her but she didn’t seem to. I’d say even in times where I’m very stressed and verging on potentially submitting things late, I always put my all in group assignments because I don’t want to let my other team members down. It’s one thing to be very lazy with your individual assignments (which she is as she apparently didn’t bother to submit the previous 2 assignments), but it‘s even worse in a group assignment in my opinion. I’m going to discuss this in my peer review because we were all so stressed trying to communicate with her and get her to do things.
