Disappointed with Galen TN

Decided to get a A5 TN from Galen Leather as I wanted wider TN for class notes, however I’m quite disappointed with the quality of the leather compared to TRC, the coating they apply feels terrible and cheap, almost plasticky, and the leather is noticeably thinner than my TRC.

Even from the website this looks different from what I got, on the website the sides used to be brown while this is completely green, and the suede inside the cover is also different from the website, clearly production process has changed.

Sorry for the negativity, I’ve heard good things of Galen and just bummed out my expectations weren’t met, maybe it’s always been like this, idk 🤷‍♂️

First pair of boots

First pair of proper shoes for my 20th 🤩🤩

Been wearing beater Air Forces as my only pair of shoes for the longest time, decided to pull the trigger on a pair of black comfort craftsman after years of admiration

Any tips on extending the longevity on the boots? Planning to daily the foreseeable future.

Visa free entry as NZ passsport and (expired) HKID holder

I was born in hk but moved to nz when i was 12, 20 now, and never renewed my HKID, 2 years ago when I was 18, I travelled to HK using my expired HKID stayed there for 9 days, within the 14 day must replace expired ID window, anyways, now I'm going back to HK end of the year, this time getting my ID renewed.

I was wondering if I could travel to mainland using my NZ passport as entry document and using the foreign 30 day visa free program instead of entering using my (expired in 2018) return home permit. As the whole process including getting my HKID I estimate would take more than a month or two. Which I do not plan to stay in HK for that long
