I want a sewing machine

I'm on the hunt for a sewing machine. I have dabbled in sewing but am pretty novice. I would like to be able to sew clothing but also make quilts. I dont really know what to look for, I thought about going to the local place and dropping a $1000 on what they would recommend. But I also been reading through other posts on here that older used machines are probably better.

So I'm kind of looking for suggestions.

Is there machines that will do a decent enough job for both clothing and quilting? Or would I be better off getting two different machines?

Can people suggest some good models to look for on marketplace?

What are some good new brands? Looks like the local dealer has bernette and bernina. But I think all the bernina are out of budget.

Just hoping to get a little direction and things to look for in either a used machines or before we go talk to the local dealer

Need to add an op-amp to a hall effect pedal for kids ride on toy.

I have been trying to fix a ride on for my granddaughter that my wife picked up at goodwill. I am close but my pedal reads from .87-4.3 volts and I need 0-5. The controller will not "activate" until it sees 0 volts. I am positive I can accomplish this with a rail to rail op-amp. But I can not wrap my head around the wiring or which one to get. In hindsight there were probably easier and cheaper ways to do this, but this is what I have.

Can someone just spoon feed me how to wire it and suggest which one to get and from where. I have 3 wires off the pedal, +, -, and the variable voltage. It feeds off the controller with a 5 volts circuit and then goes to the input on the controller.

This is the one I'm looking at https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/microchip-technology/MCP6002-E-MC/1999523?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad\_source=1&gad\_campaignid=20790518593&gbraid=0AAAAADrbLliC0OzY3HuzQmW1CvUlzdGb-&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrs7RBhDuARIsAIVfBD0vx3YpeGYhfbfMdKZ01G8zncgG7UerjrtU8ZcRh5AO2DTVxDOengMaAqfQEALw\_wcB
