Barely 50% inventory at each location. Large sections of bare rock, lots of mostly bare tables. Asked if they had any more than the 2 homely little shrubs I was looking for and they said no, and they aren’t planning on ordering any further inventory.
There seems to be one on every block, however walk-in shops are so few and far between and the rest require booking days in advance, a website account, a credit card saved to the account, or cash only.
I understand that shops that have time for walk-ins are becoming less common, but the requirements for a simple haircut here are quite the contrast to all my previous experiences where none would require a credit card prior to booking (and saving it to their website is just wild to me), cash only, or online booking with an account, phone, email, booked out for days, etc.
Is / was there some sort of malicious appointment booking scammer in this town that books up all the chairs in order to run the other shops out of business or what?
