Good, community. I just wanted to stop by to share a little piece of peace that I brought from my last trip to Thailand, specifically from Koh Chang. I still have my feet on the ground, but my mind stayed a little there.

I went right after the Songkran, when the island begins to breathe again, and the atmosphere that was felt was... I don’t know how to describe it, almost mystical. The weather was perfect, as if the universe had aligned to give me those days.

My mornings had a kind of sacred ritual: I woke up without alarms, felt the breeze, took the motorcycle and drove to a breakfast place with views that made you grateful to be alive. After eating, I smoked some weed to connect with the environment and went straight to the beach. The plan was not to have a plan: spend the whole day lying in the sand, swimming in that wonderful water that seemed to cure any tension, drinking coconut water directly from the fruit and eating sweet mangos as much as possible. Time was freezing there.

And the food... ugh. I found a local restaurant that became my culinary temple those four days. Every night I went with the mission of trying a different curry. One better than the other; an explosion of flavours that really felt like a hug to the soul.

To close the circle, the nights were to look at the stars in complete silence, before returning to my bungalow to sway for a while in the hammock and let me sleep with the sounds of nature.

It was a trip that reminded me of what it really means to disconnect and connect with yourself. Thailand has that clean energy that makes me fall in love every time I go. Obviously, I already have my head focussed on next year to return.

If someone is looking for that space to heal, breathe and simply be, Koh Chang at that time is a magical portal. Thank you for reading me, I just needed to capture this somewhere where they understand me.

Shanghai and Shenzhen through my phone lens: My first trip to China

Here is a small selection of photos I took during my first trip to China, focussed mainly on Shanghai and Shenzhen.

If I had to summarise it in one sentence: China is another planet.

The contrast between what you imagine before going and what you end up living on a daily basis is abysmal. In my experience, the cultural shock, more than an obstacle, is an incredible stimulus. It opens your eyes and tans you in a way that few destinations achieve.

It is impressive to see firsthand the level of development, technology and real potential of this giant.
