How do I handle this situation ?
My husband and I live in US and my in laws live in Canada. We were blessed with a baby in 2025. My inlaws wanted to travel to India for his birthday but I said no since I didn’t want a fancy birthday which my son doesn’t enjoy, so my inlaws also cancelled their travel plans.
Now I want to travel to India and visit my parents and brother (it’s been an year) , but there is a wedding in the in laws family in November. My mil has been pressuring me to cancel my India plans in June July and go to India with them in November.
The main arguments is when my son visits India for the first time he cannot go without his grandparents and I should be making sure that I take everyone’s opinion before I make plans to go to India!
I am confused and soo angry, why does everyone’s plan depend so much on my son! Why can’t they make their own plans? I just want to visit my parents and why do they need to be there when I do that?
