Cut Bar

Any tips on cutting multiple yards of fabric for these absolute cunts that call themselves previous Joann customers? I swear to god if one more 60-80 year old hag huffs and puffs while I’m trying to cut 9 yards on this piece of shit, I’m going to go fucking postal.

Rewards/vouchers

I’ve been a Michaels rewards member for nearly 15 years. An employee (on three different occasions) for a total of a handfulish of years.

Lately, though, I’ve noticed when I use my employee discount card/employee sale I’m not earning vouchers like I do without it. Some transactions don’t move me closer to the next voucher at all. I used to order specifically bopis/sfs before the coupons got a little better because it worked out to be more off than I would get even with my discount.

Has anyone else noticed this happening?

As someone who actually does love their job. The job you were sold, the one that sounds good on paper and SOPs but doesn’t translate…

Sound off.

Give me three things you love about Michaels.

  1. Helping kind customers. I love when someone explains their project to me and when I can tell them “I’d never have thought of that” or “please come back and show me when you’re done” and I have had SEVERAL people do this!! I LOVE IT! I will literally drop everything I’m doing. And when I see people I know frequent the store I LOVE to say something to them! Thank you for coming back!

  2. Brainstorming with customers. I once helped an older gentleman turn a Shepards hook into a shaded planter for Hummingbirds (he had a very sunny yard and a recently passed wife who always put feeders out) by suggesting he take a cemetery cone and melt a hole in it the size of the hook then place the cone right at the top with spray foam to hold the planter onto the hook. Then we filled the top half of the cemetery cone with wet foam to hold the floral he purchased. He came back a week later and had made a few for himself and friends!

  3. FABRIC/YARN. I started at Michael’s because I love to craft. The patterns, suggestions, advice I’ve received just cutting fabric is insane, people really get chatty when they’re nice folks. I love it. I love to hear what people have to say. I understand we don’t talk enough about the AMAZING customers we have and maybe we can all find a few things we like?

Biggest bitcher in this thread signing off lol
