Adding appliqués and skirt options
I am incredibly sorry if this has posted lots of times, I kept getting an error message but then it seems to be there 🫣 and now it wont let me delete. Please don't send me to r/corsetry jail.
My niece *loves* her corset and has decided she wants to wear this one for prom. It was meant to be a final trial and the fact I cut the two centre front panels on the grain line instead of off grain like intended kills me, but the idea of not having to make another fills me with glee so I’m back for yet more advice.
This is how she wore it recently for a family event but it’s too casual for prom.
So two questions:
- Do you think I could make the AB Annabelle skirt in a heavyweight satin? She doesn’t want a pronounced mermaid hem and is hoping for a split but I figure I can hack that. It’s a good shape for under the corset which she wants on top of the skirt. Any other obvious pattern contenders? I was in two minds about a bias cut skirt but I think the satin might be too heavy for it and it’s only 130cm wide.
- I’ve a couple of lace appliqués that she’d like on top of the corset. Is it simply a case of hand sewing them on or am I missing something more complicated?
As ever all ideas and thoughts and feedback welcome. Thank you.
