Is my baby shower gift weird?
Hi there, hopefully this is okay to ask here. My sister's baby shower is this summer. I am an artist, and she asked me to make her wall art for her nursery, and to surprise her.
My plan had been to make storybook style illustrations of little princesses. Not explicitly depicting any person or character, but with my sister and brother-in-law's hair, eye & skin color (which is the same).
I was talking to a friend about this and she remarked it was weird, since it looks like I'm guessing what the baby will look like as a kid. She said I should instead just use Disney princesses, or avoid drawing people entirely and draw little storybook animals.
I had thought my idea was cute, but now I'm in my head about it. If you received this gift, would you think it was weird? Should I switch to animals or other characters instead? Am I overthinking it?
