What happened to your Math degree after university/college?

I am soon to start my second year of university studying Maths with Economics in the UK, and I'm looking to get into finance, but my course is still like 80:40 Math to Econ. I was genuinely curious, have people ever studied a math degree or math related degree, gone into some profession, corporate finance or business related or anything that doesn't require uni-level content, and forgot about the math they learned? I can't imagine how it would feel to have studied and liked math from a young age all the way up to my early 20s, and study it at a decently high level in university, just for everything to vanish after like 10 years, does this happen to anybody? I wonder like if I were to ever have kids, 10-15 years from now, will all of my higher level math knowledge be evaporated, and having a math degree father won't benefit them in any way? Let me know, genuinely curious.
