On Friday evening, I travelled from Zurich to Baden and back. The ticket EasyRide bought for me is for zones 110, 111, 117, 154, 570, and 572. As I understand it, my ZVV 9 o'clock pass (Alle Zonen) covers travel in zones 110 through 154 on this journey, so why was I charged for them? Is it because I took an IR train with no stop between HB and Baden? If that's the case, should I have taken S12 instead? Or did the computer make a mistake that would allow me to claim a refund?

EDIT: u/SchoggiToeff provided the correct answer. Without a valid ticket within the Tarifverbund A-Welle, I couldn't have gotten a valid extension ticket to my pass.
