£300 spending money for a week in Alicante for 2 people. Is it actually manageable?
Hi everyone! My boyfriend (29M) and I (25F) are going to Alicante for a week next week, flying out Sunday and coming back the following Sunday.
Our flights and accommodation are already paid for, thankfully, but we've had quite a lot of expenses recently and we're now looking at having roughly £300 spending money between us for the whole week.
This would need to cover food, drinks, minimal activities and transport. We don't drink alcohol, which obviously helps, and we're planning to cook at the villa on some days using the kitchen/grill rather than eating out every day. We're also planning to keep activities fairly minimal and just enjoy the holiday without spending loads.
I know £300 isn't ideal for two people for a full week and I'm definitely not trying to convince myself that it's loads of money. I'm actually quite worried about it and fully prepared to be doing mental maths every time we spend anything 😂
I'm just looking for some reassurance from people who have been to Alicante or travelled on a similar budget. Is £300 genuinely manageable if we're sensible, don't drink and cook some of our meals, or are we going to be completely screwed?
I'm not looking for anyone to be delusional and tell me £300 is loads. I know it's tight. I just really don't want to spend the whole holiday panicking about money if it's actually possible to make it work. 🥲
Any reassurance, realistic advice or tips for stretching the money would be massively appreciated!
