Inspired by an old post here in this sub

, I set out on a quest to build my own set of wireless wired (lol) open back headphones. Second picture is the prototype, with my old "transparent" tpu capra strap, using some tape and an old cable I had lying around just for a proof of concept (mic was included to make it as jank as possible for the picture), Snowsky Retro Nano being the heart of the beast.

For the final version I soldered a custom cable myself using 90 degree connectors to keep it sleek and used some velcro cable ties to keep it all streamlined with the frame of the headphones. I found the other guy's solution to be a little too permanent, with the velcro strips I don't need to cut anything whenever I feel like disassembling the rig, unlike with his zip ties. Running the cables through the back of the headphones also made a significant difference IMO, I still think it could be better, though... Come on, Fiio, couldn't you have made a black version of the AMP? I'm now looking into a black cover for the Nano, as well as a non-permanent way to clip it to the frame somewhere. Thinner cables are also part of the plan, but they're proving harder to find than expected. For now, it's serving its purpose beautifully and has added next to no weight. Not bad for a first time.

My extra, a little question: My priorities are soundstage and imaging, I currently have this bad boy and a Moondrop Para. What would a worthy upgrade be? It's possibly going to be my endgame, I was thinking of going Arya Stealth but heard people saying it's not as big as the XS... Preference for oval headphones or something with LARGE round cups, going from the XS to anything else is a significant downgrade in comfort for me. Thanks in advance!
