I filed a small claim for a dog bite incident close to 2 years ago, and now I got a call and an e-mail from the defendant's insurance company. They claim they are representing the defendant and require more info as well as photographs in order to process the claim for any monies owing for damages. I mentioned that it was in the court awaiting a hearing with the judge. The rep told me that it was part of the process and it will assist in the hearing.

Does anyone know if that is normal? I have never been through the small claims court for any reason so I am a bit confused, as I was expecting everything to be presented at the hearing and nothing more.

Any information would be appreciated!
