Weightloss with ADHD
Hey everyone!
I've struggled with my weight for several years now, always great at gaining it but never really losing any. After a herniated disc in 2024 I've now gained significant weight and I'm having trouble finding clothes and bras (85J EU sizing is almost impossible to find...) that fit.
Since September I've been going to the gym now to improve my back pain, but i have yet to loose ANY weight.
So I've started tracking my calories and realized i should really get that under control.
BUT I'M SO DAMN HUNGRY ALL THE TIME.
I get bored, I want to eat. I think about what I want to eat later constantly.
The Internet tells me this could be my ADHD making it hard for me by seeking dopamine through food.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks for weight loss with ADHD?
For context: I've had my diagnosis since second grade, was medicated as a kid. Stopped when i got older but tried again in the last 5 years. Tried almost every medication but couldn't really tell a change with any of them so I'm currently unmedicated.
Edit: I'm 1,77m tall and weigh around 105kg. It's great that GLP-1 is helping so many of you but I'd rather try without weightloss medication first because of the unexplored long-term side effects. Also I'm from Germany and it really isn't that big of a thing here and not as easy to get.
