Round 2 Skeletor vs Quality Control.

Eleven days ago I posted about my new Chronicles Skeletor coming out of the package with a leg that popped off at the joint and a frozen elbow. I returned it and found him and He-Man online a few days later. Got them both today and the disappointment continues.

Skeletor’s leg was fine but first arm bend and the peg in the arm broke. I set him down after that and took a break. Then I picked up He-Man.

Looking over the figure in package he seemed to be in good shape but noticed the cross on his armor is popping out on one side. Didn’t even open him.

I have collected the Masterverse line since it started in 2021. Have over two dozen figures and no problems with them. No frozen or broken joints, no loose pieces, just really solid figures. Feels like Chronicles is a step backwards in quality.

Don’t think I can buy any more of this line. Maybe I’ll try again when they put out the next wave but I’m not sure.

Here’s to hoping the movie is better than the toy line made to support it.

Chronicles Skeletor! Excited and disappointed at the same time.

Finally got him this morning at my local Target. Get home and out of package. First knee bend and the joint pops out of the leg before I know what happened. Figure was warm and I did not use excessive force. The lower elbow joint on left arm almost did the same thing. Not a great start to make me like this line. Was nice that he could stand on one leg.

I used some hot water on leg piece and joint popped right back in as tight as you please. Arm joint is still frozen even after hair dryer and hot water but the top moves just fine. After a bit of messing around with him he started to grow on me.

Had to do some shots with my current Skeletor. It’s a custom cape with 40th Anniversary body and Classics headsculpt.

I do like how the eyes seem to follow you like the new Battlecat’s does. Creepy and cool, just like Skeletor should be.

All in all I am still on the fence with this line. I feel they missed the boat with the scale chosen. As a kid my Masters figures towered over my Star Wars and GI Joes. Something this line does not continue. However the articulation and sculpt are very impressive. The hood and cape on Skeletor have a great texture.

If not for the broken leg right out of the package I might have a little more desire for this line but for now, I’m going to wait before I get any more. For those that love this wave enjoy and I hope they keep it going.
