You can check out the Xperia 1 VIII in Japan
I was on vacation in Japan when the 1 VIII announcement went out and visited the Sony Store in Ginza to try out some camera lenses.
They had the new phone out to play with in all the colours. It was pretty packed, so I didn't get much time to play with it.
A few quick thoughts:
- The bump on the back with the new camera set up is quite pronounced
- Phone seems pretty quick and responsive, colours are very nice
- There will be a Sony Style Cover that they were advertising
- Camera AI tech is as god awful as it looks in the marketing photos. I always praised Sony tech for taking realistic photos, as in close to what it looks like in reality. Nice for them to add an AI that messes that up.
