Is the demand for IBM Sterling / EDI professionals going down or what?

Hi there,

Some of you probably read my post that I have been posting for a while on what to do next. I found a person who is willing to train me on the IBM Sterling product. I used to see quite a bit of requirements for IBM Sterling, in fact, a lot of times I would lose the opportunity as I did not have that experience. Now, I don't see much requirement for IBM sterling EDI professionals. Am I wrong? Maybe I am just going through an anxiety phase and losing it! lol

How to get started in the EDI business or market consulting services?

Guys, I keep brainstorming Like many of you, I have years of experience in the EDI space, starting as an analyst and later moving into program management, integrations, and implementations.

From an entrepreneurial perspective, do you think there are still opportunities to build a business in the EDI space? Is there a niche that's underserved, or perhaps a product idea that could realistically succeed in today's market?

I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Thank you!

I have posted about EDI before, but seeking guidance / help here again!

Hey EDI warriors, I need help. I got laid off recently. I am an EDI Analyst and not truly a mapper. I have mainly worked on 850, 860, 810, and 856 as an EDI Analyst/ Implementation Manager / Project Manager. I have some time to get trained. What areas should I focus on that can make me competitive? I am open to ideas and suggestions, should I go after SAP EDI training? HL7/FHIR? Cleo? TrueCommerce? - Just brainstorming, a lot of work is outsourced to overseas companies. Share some ideas guys before I truly become homeless hahaha!! Thanks in advance!

Is there any SAP module/area where I won't have to compete with the Indians?

I am serious. You guys are too smart and dominate SAP area in the U.S. Help me find a SAP module where I will face less competition. You guys outsmart me each time :)

Badly need Career advise, struggling here in NorCal

Greetings from SFO. This is sort of a follow up to my previous post. I worked as a SAP BI functional consultant till 2017 and then worked on some other non-SAP related stuff. I would like to get back into the SAP consulting area. I am literally out of my savings. The landscape has changed and I am not sure which SAP area I should focus on. I want to stay on the techno-functional side as I am not a programmer. What modules/areas in your opinion are in demand. For example SD, FICO, MM are heavily saturated. That's just my observation, perhaps I am wrong. Would love your input. Thank you.
