Hornady Frontier FR262 77gr OTM

Just finished an intro to long range shooting class put on by former Army Snipers here in AR with my own version of a MK12 using Hornady Frontier FR262 77gr. I know there’s not a lot of info on this new bullet that Hornady has put out and the info I was able to find on YouTube, Snipers Hide and here on this new round was all saying that this round has bad performance. I took a gamble and bought a couple boxes too see if my 18” HBAR Wylde barrel would like it but before that I reached out to Criterion to see if okay to shoot out of my setup since Hornady highly advises only to shoot from a 5.56 barrel with no suppressor.

Criterion said go for it and I did hoping I didn’t have a baffle strike lol and know they would take care of me if I had an issue.

I’m in no way an expert on “long range” but I was impressed! I shot ~250 rounds and only had 1 light primer strike and no baffle strikes 😅

I don’t have a picture of my grouping at 100yds but my group was a little over an 1”. I was able to engage and hit steel out to 930yds with this stuff and I’m fairly pleased with the results regardless of little info on the web saying this round was just not it.

For reference, a pic of the targets we were shooting beyond 600yds.

I have a knee C&P exam this Thursday afternoon and I’ve typed out my notes to take with me. I don’t want to sell myself short on this exam and I know if I don’t take my notes, I’ll forget everything. Please let know if I should add anything else, take something out or any useful tips! I have buddy statements, MRIs, diagnosis, etc. submitted.

TIA
