Estate sale Hilo, Hawai’i USA possible Meiji era fan?

Estate sale from an elderly woman with no family remaining. The back of the peeling black lacquer frame shows a local frame shop from the 50s based on typography and the location being long gone (1960 tsunami removed the waterfront Japanese community)

I can’t read the artist signature, but the lady holding a fan with a clan symbol makes me wonder if it’s not a specific person… fan service? Jokes aside it’s a survivor piece from a place where most of the Japanese items were destroyed during WW2 or lost in subsequent natural disasters. More interested in history rather than value, thanks!

Retire or refit an old trooper

You know the one - an old white (now yellow) Pacifica that came from a friend of a friend, was loaned out for tours, hauled around as a backup and left behind for brighter things. Really want a Revstar, but these aren't NGD times. The electrics crackle, but the neck just falls to hand like a smooth river rock

Serial number NX16074, doesn't show up on Yamaha's search. Heavily relic'd by guys in jean jackets that smell like wet pets. Do I a) drop it off at Amvets b) replace the plug and pots c) spend a bit upgrading it until I can splash for a Rev.

I'll do what gets the most votes.
