Going to be selling my Pacifica soon. Want to confirm model

Going to end up selling my Pacifica soon. Mostly because of lack of use for the last 5+ years.

Want to confirm the model number and that it's not particularly rare that I can't find something similar in a couple years.

I think it's a 112 built in 2008 in Taiwan.

Serial number seems to be QOM143194. But could be Q0

NGD Yamaha Pacifica SC Professional

This thing basically plays itself, it’s absolutely flawless. I’m not too sure on the colour though, what do you think?

NGD Yamaha Pacifica 604L

Grabbed this bad boy today for 280€ (shipment included) , it's my very first Yamaha, I ignore when it has been produced but it seems sturdy, it comes with Wilkinson tremolo and Spertzel tuners, neck is fast and feels very nice in hand and the guitar is in absolutely mint condition for it's supposed age (90's/00's I suppose ?) ♥️

Anyone here bought one of these yet? I’m really tempted. Yamaha Pacifica Standard Plus PACS+12

I own two Fender Telecasters, but for my studio I really want a Strat, and an HSS seems like the perfect fit. These Pacificas look fantastic. I’ve also been considering a Revstar. If anyone here owns one, I’d love to hear your experience. How do the Seymour Duncan pickups sound? Are they more vintage-voiced, modern, or somewhere in between?

My Yamaha Pacifica 112J full upgrade

Hi everyone,

I want to share the upgrade I did on my Yamaha Pacifica 112J. I have played it for about a year. I really like the neck, but I was not happy with the sound of the stock ceramic pickups. So I decided to do a full upgrade myself -- and also learn how to set up a guitar and understand how everything works.

Here is what I did:

Pickups: Tonerider Alnico II HSS set
I wanted a warmer, more vintage tone. Alnico II magnets are softer and smoother than the stock ceramic ones.
* S4N single coil (neck)
* S4M single coil (middle, RWRP so the middle positions are hum-free)
* AC2 humbucker (bridge, 4 wires so I can coil-split it)

Electronics
* 500K push-pull volume pot (CTS) -- pull up to split the humbucker into a single coil. 500K keeps the humbucker open and bright.
* 250K no-load tone pot (CTS) -- on 10 it takes the tone pot out of the circuit, so the pickups sound more open. 250K keeps the singles smooth.
* Fender 5-way switch -- reliable replacement for the cheap stock one.
* Pure Tone multi-contact output jack -- stronger contact, won't get loose.
* 0.022uF tone cap.
* Treble bleed (1nF cap + 150K resistor) -- keeps the highs when I turn the volume down.
* Copper shielding tape in the cavities -- much less hum on the singles.

Hardware
* Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut -- better tuning stability and smoother tone.
* Musiclily tremolo with a solid brass block -- better sustain than the thin stock block.

For the wiring I used the Tonerider diagram as a starting point and modified it a bit to add the push-pull coil-split. It all came together.

What went wrong
First time soldering and setting up a guitar and it showed. I had to strip it down and rewire it three times. First attempt: I forgot the switch-to-volume wire, aka the main signal wire the whole sound runs through. Second attempt: mixed up the lugs, so volume and tone both worked in reverse. Third time it finally all came together. I also cooked one pot along the way, and found out the stock Yamaha knobs won't press onto US-spec CTS shafts: knobless for now until the right ones arrive.

It was my first time soldering and setting up a guitar. I made a few mistakes (I even overheated one pot), but I learned a lot. To my ears it now sounds much better — warmer, quieter, and more flexible. I feel it is now above a 112V, for a reasonable price.

Cost

Parts:
* Pickups (Tonerider Alnico II HSS set): ~€120
* Electronics (2 CTS pots, 5-way switch, output jack, cap, shielding, knobs): ~€66
* Tremolo (Musiclily, brass block): ~€41
* Nut (Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL): ~€9
* Wire, solder, treble bleed parts: ~€12
Parts total: about €250 (~€130 without the pickups)

Tools (one-time, and I keep them):
* A good soldering iron: ~€40
* Small accessories for the iron (tips, stand, etc.): ~€10
Tools total: ~€50

So the parts were about €250, plus €50 for tools. The pickups were the biggest cost. Everything else fixed all the weak points of the stock guitar.

Thanks for reading! Happy to answer any questions!

Is this original or fake? ( pac012 )

I’m interested in buying it, but I’m not sure how to verify that it’s authentic. Could you help me?

Pacifica SC... to professional or not?

I'm going to get a Yamaha Pacifica SC. I've always wanted a tele but never got on with the ergonomics, the Pacifica SC solves that with its comfortable belly carve (and besides that it's also an awesome guitar).

I'm trying to decide on whether to get the Standard Plus or the Professional.The professional is on offer in the UK at £1500, but it's still ~£650 more than the Standard Plus. I usually wouldn't consider the professional if it wasn't on offer, but now that the price difference is last drastic I am tempted.

What do you think?

Where do I get saddles? Bought one online and what came was disappointing, or help me remove those rust spots? The plate's fine though

Question!! (Non pacifica related)

Hey guys i need a little more help understanding how to use the CAGED scale shapes when embellishing chords.

For example if i play a C major using the E shape but i want to then move to G major using the E shape and i embellish of that G major from the notes of the E shape am i not using notes from the scale of G major?

Say im in the key of C major and i want to play the 3 chord (E minor) using any of the CAGED shapes. If i want to embellish the chord am i taking notes directly from the scale shapes making up the chord?

Guitar neck

Just noticed this about my PAC standard plus. I never knew these could come with this subtle flame maple necks (correct me if it's not 🫠). I was having a lesson and ended up talking about flame maple necks with my teacher and I realised this looks a lot like a flame maple neck. It's factory and I never even bothered to look much at the neck since I just thought "It's just a maple neck with a satin finish".

PS, it's way more subtle than it may seem in the photos since I reduced brightness while taking them for better visibility...

Is it even worth upgrading?

I’ve got a 2024 violin DLX 012 that I love. The but could be better and the pickups are surprisingly good for being ceramics.

super playable and comfortable guitar. I just don’t see much a reason to switch to the 112v. maybe just upgrade the nut and call it a day?

I have busked with this for a while with great success and it holds tune very well.

Obviously though it may be a good idea to upgrade

Bridge mod suggestions for a PAC112VM

I just got these installed a few weeks back and I really wanna swap out the bridge too. I'm still rather new to modifications and stuff, but I've heard some stuff about wilkinson bridges. Any suggestions for the bridge and any other modifications I should consider? No real budget constraints but I wouldn like to not pay exorbitants amounts for something only slightly better than affordable alternatives.

Easy mods for old PAC112?

Bought this Pacifica in 2001, my first electric. I upgraded to a telecaster ‘72 thinline reissue in 2007 and this one has gone mostly unplayed since then, and now hangs on the wall in my parents’ basement. I’m planning to use it to figure out how to do a setup on my own, but I’m also thinking it’d be fun to try to give it some upgrades. There’s a little hole for a tremolo bar on the bridge, but as far as I recall it did not come with the bar. How difficult would it be to add one, and what are some other upgrades you’d recommend for someone who has never tried upgrading a guitar before?

Fender Champion ll amplifier to go with Yamaha Pacifica 112j

Help I'm thinking of getting this amplifier and I'm unsure if it's the best choice. I need it to play in my bedroom so nothing loud. Looked up online and this had more tones than the other and it says that it provides a better sound quality than others even at low volumes.

What is the difference between the pac112v and the pac112vm? My dad is telling me the wood on the pac112v is higher quality but is that the only difference? Do you guys know which one is better?
