ACOUSTICS: Martin vs. Hsienmo vs. Yamaha vs. Dowina (Jamey's Guitar News)
An interesting quick comparison of 4 quality acoustic guitars ranging in price from $1250 (actually you can get a non-blingy version of the Yamaha for $950) to $5000+. They all sound pretty good to me.
Martin is Martin, of course; Hsienmo is a high-end Chinese boutique builder (I have several); and I've never heard of Dowina before, but apparently it is from Slovakia and is the most expensive.
I've got both a Yamaha LL16M and a LS16, and they are very good deals (particularly because I got the former in used-mint for $600 from a college student who was selling her ex-boyfriend's stuff lol).
