How do I set this up?!? I found it for 30 bucks it’s signed by a guy named Dan in the lower back but idk whose signature this is I highly doubt that it’s a Gibson and or a epiphone but idk what type of headless nut that is or even this is playable or not I’m entirely unsure or like what type of guitar this is But I was wondering what everyone thinks I should do

What's the most played guitar in your house, and why?

Was thinking about this today while looking at my gear. I have a really nice American start that I love but honestly my most played guitar lately is just this cheap little acoustic sitting right next to my desk. It sounds way worse but the friction of pulling the strat out of the hard case and plugging in makes me lazy lol. It got me curious if the best guitar is always the most used one for you guys or if convenience just wins out at home? also, do you find yourself grabbing the low maintenance couch guitar way more often just because its right there?

Can you travel with an electric guitar without bringing an amp?

I really want to bring a guitar on my next trip but I strictly prefer electric over acoustic. The problem is the whole amp situation always gets way too complicated when you're trying to pack light. I really don't want to carry an extra gig bag plus a headphone amp and cables if I can avoid it.

Guys, how do you actually handle this? What's your go-to setup for traveling with an electric without dragging a mini studio along?

Does anyone have any experience with soviet guitars?

I've heard a lot of things about soviet guitars, mostly that quality is questionable. I was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with any of them or could tell me any info on them. Are there that are any better in todays world than others? With soviet manufacturing, I know most were cheap and mass produced with no real quality control so I assume it's questionable, but wondering if anyone knew anything else

Can an Ibanez GRX20 guitar, which originally has an HH pickup configuration, be converted to HSH?

I really want to buy an Ibanez guitar with an HSH pickup configuration and a pickguard, but at an affordable price; I also want one that is easy to set up, which is why I am avoiding a "floating" (up-down) bridge.

Is Grote a decent guitar brand?

I'm just wondering if Grote is a decent guitar brand. I bought a LP style Grote a couple of months ago, but had played it until a week ago. That's when I realized how heavy it was. It has to be the heaviest guitar I've ever handled. Besides the strings being being super thick, it looks and plays nicely. If anyone has any info on that brand I'd love to hear about it.

Which amp should I choose?

I’m a fairly beginner player who plays mostly metal in his bedroom. On Facebook marketplace I’ve found a boss katana 100 for £120 and a fender mustang LT25 for £60. If I were to buy the katana 100 it would almost definitely stay in the 0.5 mode. I was wondering if it would be worth getting the katana for double the price considering I’m only going to play relatively quietly in my bedroom. Thank you

Well boys… I did it.

After much consideration and research. Plus a little reflection off of the communication we had from previous post and this is the one I landed on. 1 of a kind custom job mint condition out of the pack just for the customization with new dragon crusader pickups and gig back for…. $700. My first brand new one. First thanks for your help to get to this point… I almost pulled the trigger a couple times but the advice you gave helped loads. Second, How did I do?

Solid body Vs. Semi hollow. Any real differences?

As someone with limited experience with semi hollow guitars, so I’m kinda not in the know with what the real differences are in tone and feedback aspects.

So when comparing say an SG to say an ES-335 body types, (both loaded with humbuckers), is there any real difference in how they sound through and amp and is it really that noticeable. Another thing I have read is that semi hollows tend to feedback more, but I’ve also read is not as drastic as some say it is, so again, is there a real difference in the amount of feedback you get?

Edit: I’m more interested in if there is any real tonal difference between the body types, cause as some point out some people swear there is but others less so.

Is this a good trade? My Schecter Avenger Standard Blood Burst for an Ibanez RGRT421 + Seymour Duncan?

Hey everyone, I’d like some opinions on a possible trade.

I own a Schecter Avenger Standard Blood Burst that I bought in August 2025. It’s basically new, very lightly played, was set up in October, and currently has Elixir .012 strings on it. It’s in excellent condition overall, i really enjoy my avenger but i have a little difficult playing it because the body is a little big for me(it's my first guitar)

Someone offered me an Ibanez RGRT421. From the photos, it looks well cared for too, and he says it has a Seymour Duncan pickup in the bridge. I’m trying to figure out whether this is a fair trade based on the condition and value of both guitars.

I really like both brands, but I’m not sure if I should keep the Schecter or go for the Ibanez.

What would you do in this situation?

My new baby I just finished

Yes I know relics and themes aren’t everyone’s thing, but I wanted to put my own guitar together for my 40th inspired by my fav team and home. I think it foots the bill and I’m proud of it and proud to play it.

Am I missing something?

First time wiring a guitar. Dual humbucker, 3-way switch, 1 volume and 1 tone pot. Pickups grounded to the back of the volume pot. Trem claw grounded to the back of the tone pot.The pickups/controls work as intended through an amp when I touch a screwdriver to the pole pieces.

What's throwing me off is the extra glop of solder on the back of the tone pot. Got the parts 2nd hand, so the solder was already there. Do I need to ground anything else to the back of the tone pot?

How hard would it be to convert a PAF style humbucker into a 6 pole single and a 3 pole bass side single all in the same H cover? Me or more likely a custom pickup manufacturer.

Buddy of mine is enamored with the Bacci baritone with separate bass side pickup with its own jack. Since neither of us can afford the $8000cad on a whim purchase, but modding a squire. . . We're going to attempt to emulate the circuitry on a squire baritone jazzmaster I ordered (not available until mid August). My current idea is a split humbucker in the neck position. I've seen forums of guys using half a P bass pair or a cigar box 3 pole to do something similar. Those need an extra route in body and guard. I think it would work well enough as a proof of concept with a modded humbucker. I don't have a winder, so I'll probably contact someone to do it for me. The circuitry otherwise I can handle. (Unless someone wants lend me a winder. I'd happily try it myself)

Well, basically just a pair at this point! I've just wall mounted my E-II and thought why not share with Reddit!
